Pollen Allergies

Overview

#

During different seasons of spring, summer and fall, trees, weeds, and grasses release tiny pollen grains into the air. This pollen can end up in your nose and throat and can trigger an allergy called hay fever.

Symptoms include the following:

  • Sneezing, often with a runny or clogged nose
  • Coughing and postnasal drip
  • Itching eyes, nose and throat
  • Red and watery eyes
  • Dark circles under the eyes

Dear Patients,

Governor Wolf has asked all non-essential businesses to close for the next 2 weeks.

In compliance with Montgomery County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Drs. Martin and Nannapaneni feel that although allergy injections are important to your health and are recommended to many of our patients, the risk of catching COVID-19 by coming into the hospital/office outweighs the benefits of immunotherapy.  Our intention at this time is to resume injections on April 6, 2020. If that changes, we will update this message.

Our staff and doctors will be present during regular office hours to answer questions and take care of emergencies by telephone or otherwise on a case by case basis. Routine office visits will also be postponed until after April 6, 2020.

Refills for prescriptions and other concerns will be handled by telephone during regular office hours. Teleconference through Face Time will be implemented.

When tests for the COVID-19 virus becomes available, appropriate arrangements will be made.

We ask for patience and understanding during this time. Our utmost interest is the protection of our patient population, our employees and our providers.

Sincerely,
George L Martin, MD
Naveen Nannapaneni, MD
